His former station was overrun by a horde of rats which killed his mother and this led Artyom to have phobia of rats. He was saved by Alex who is his adoptive father. Artyom has brown hair and he also has a unnamed son and has a wife who he met in Last Light. Artyom started on his journey when hunter instructed him to go to Polis to find a Ranger named Miller if he didn’t return. He is the youngest member of the Rangers and when he found D6 they gave him a Rangers badge straight away. The weapons Artyom carries can vary depending on the characters choice.

When it was attacked by Nosalises he went to defend the entrance and plant an explosive device, when the device was planted he was attacked by one lone Nosalis which made Khan get caught up in the blast and he had to crawl to a lever to close the station’s side entrance and before he pulled the lever he saw to of his friends who were defending the back of the station from mutants were trying to get to Khan but  they were slowed down because he had to carry the other one but they were being chased by a horde of Nosalises so Khan made a decision and closed the gate his explanations were that he was young and inexperianced indicating that now he is older and more experienced he would have made a different choice. In Metro 2033 him and Artyom must travel through an unnamed tunnel where Khan says “neither man nor beast walks here even the rats are absence” which shows that something is wrong with the tunnel because rats are in every part of the Metro. He tells Artyom that if stays close to the pipes he can hear voices. When they are traveling to Cursed station they have to go past several ghosts and Khan utters something probably in Russian to get past  them which reveals that this might be something to do with when he defended Polyanka. Khan then meets Artyom again when he is in Sparta base. In Last Light Khan is the first person Artyom sees when he wakes up. Later Khan rescues Anna and Artyom with Hanza police. Him and Artyom leave Okatybriskaya together to find the river of fate, then they find a railcar and chase the train when Artyom jumps onto it Khan goes off in the railcar and they both get split up. Khan then meets Ulman and they travel to Polyanka. Khan then meets up with Artyom and they defend D6 with the other Rangers. One shotgun shell should be enough to kill it. They are probably the only mutant which can be domesticated which is shown in the Theatre station although it isn’t very well trained because it runs off. They have most likely mutated from a rodent of some kind

Watchmen

Watchman

They are fast and are mostly seen on the Surface probably because they are mutated from dogs or wolves who were still up there when the missles exploded but they could also be derived from rats. The only thing they can usually attack are Lurkers and Humans but they might have to be omnivorous due to the fact that there are only a few Lurkers and Humans on the surface. Demon

Demon

They can fly and are one of the most powerful enemies in the game. They can grow to massive sizes, a baby could be the size of a cat but an adult one could be about the size of a van. The roar is similar to a tiger which could portray that it could of mutated from a tiger which wouldn’t be unlikely because Moscow zoo does have tigers but the overall look f it shows it could be mutated from a bat.
